| Brent Cooper enjoys his charmed life. He's part owner of Coopers Companions, a successful male escort business. He's the number one requested escort and can literally pick and chose from some of the most beautiful women to grace his bed. Life is good and that's just the way he likes it. He has no desire to settle for anything or anyone that isn't perfection in his eyes. When he meets Robin Howell he's attracted to the sensual beauty -- until he discovers the scars on her arms and then he turns away in pity. But her courage, warmth, and beauty call to him in ways he can't understand. The attraction seems to shatter all of his notions of physical perfection as their romance heats up. Brent is running scared with the emotions this woman evokes in him. Danger from Robin's past comes back to haunt her and danger lurks at every turn because a demented ex-boyfriend is out to make sure that he's the only man in her life. He has killed once to prove it and won't hesitate to do it again. Robin and Brent's growing love is put to the test.
Almost Perfection is a refreshing and sizzling-with-sensuality story that will take the readers breath away with its wonderfully intense depth of emotion between the hero and heroine. The characters create a magical spark between them from the very first meeting -- even if Brent's misconceived ideas get in the way of what is right in front of his eyes. It is wonderful to see Robin as a secure, independent, courageous, and beautiful woman on the inside as well as the outside stand up to Brent who is sexy and just a whole lot conceited. She shows him to look inside someone to see the real person. The author wonderfully handles the complex emotional issues between the characters very realistically by delving deeply into each person as an open book for the reader to understand and appreciate. The sex is sinfully passionate, the tension as well as the sexual energy is off the charts. There are also touches of tender magic between the couple that brims with heart and sensitivity. It was wonderful to be reunited with all of the Cooper gang from past books who play a large part of the story line in this book. This is the third book in the series and although each book can be read as a stand alone story, they all seem to complement each other. The danger adds a compelling edge and the touches of humor keep the story from getting too dark. Ms. Lafleur has outdone herself with this wonderful story. Readers will be sorry to see this one end!
