Adam Whitford, on the surface, had it made. His business was doing well but only those closest to him knew something was different. He now gave almost everything, except his church time, to his business. He felt he had lost his best friend. That was his fault. He had been friends with/dating Delaine Bishop -- his best friend -- for several years when he "fell" in love with a new church attendee. Adam not only fell hard and fast for her. He moved to Florida to follow her and marry her.

Delaine had been honest with her "best" friend. She told him before he left for Florida that she was in love with him. He scoffed at her and told her she wasn't "in love" at all. The more he was around her at church events upon his return, the closer he was drawn to her. She was more than skeptical. She was afraid to allow him to get to "friend" status again.

This was quite a book by Deborah Kinnard. She did a good job of following, intensely, the passions and fears of the couple as they travelled with a church group to Hawaii. She gave an in-depth study of the development of these main characters. This also applied to the supporting members of her book.

The story was written sweetly. However, it did have hints into the feelings of a man and woman who are falling in love. Kinnard handled subjects that are normally not discussed in inspirational books, such as lust and pre-marital sex. She wasn't afraid to bring these issues to the forefront which enhanced the storyline.

I am pleased to have read this book and recommend it to everyone. You will definitely like it. It is a good book to recommend to young adults.
