| Alexandria (Lexi), a contemporary lawyer married to a doctor, finds an old diary in a locked trunk written 50 years ago. The story of Alexandria Jamieson and Danny Hollingsworth in the diary evokes some strong emotions. Alexandria and Danny fell in love during wartime and were lovers for 28 years. Lexi looks at her own marriage and it seems she and her husband Dylan have lost their connection to the stress of modern day life. Lexi finds herself wanting the passion Alexandria felt for Danny.
Lexi and Dylan are a couple with busy careers who seldom see each other and don't get along when they do. The diary serves as an awakening to Lexi for what she really wants. Ms. Whitfield is a wonderful storyteller and you get very involved in the story because it is so detailed. It's like you are there with Alexandria and Danny and also with Lexi and Dylan. The emotions evoked by the diary show Lexi and Dylan that their love is strong and it just needs more care and attention. This story is sweet and touching. I recommend it to everyone.
