| Adrian has wanted Katherine since the day that he met her and now that they are dating he finally has the opportunity to get to know her. Of course that leads to the most incredible night of his life, where he almost reveals that he is a werewolf. Fearing her threat to his control, he walks away and doesn't look back. However, that doesn't stop him from thinking about her and when she turns up on his cousin's doorstep three months later, running from men with guns, he finally realizes that she is his mate and sees the perfect chance to protect her and convince her that they are meant to be together.
Katherine loves Adrian and has from their first meeting, when they start dating she thinks something special is happening, but after they sleep together, he breaks up with her. Sure that he was only after one thing, she decides not to look back, but soon finds out that she is pregnant with his child. All of a sudden her doctor is trying to kill her and there are men hunting for her and she knows it has something to do with her unborn child. She runs to the one person she trusts and winds up back in the arms of Adrian. She is determined not to let her heart get involved this time, but what will happen when he finds out about he baby? I loved this story and could not put it down until I finished it; it kept me turning the pages until the very end. Adrian has his reasons for leaving Katherine, even if it does make him a bit of a jerk, but once he realizes she is his true mate, his alpha male attitude starts to shine. Katherine has to get over the whole one nightstand thing and wants to hold her heart away from Adrian, but is her will be strong enough? Jeigh Lynn has done an excellent job creating a plot of werewolves and the ones who hunt them. This is the second book in the series and I certainly hope a third is in the works.
