Lizzie McArthur grew up in small town Shirley, Wyoming. She was secretly in love with the bad boy of the town, Trip Hall. When he took her to the prom, she caught him kissing another girl. She never got over it. Now she was back in town, widowed, with her daughter, 3-1/2 year old Bailey, and she called herself Beth. Howard Hemingway Hall—Triple H—or Trip, had also returned to Shirley after a near-death accident while a stuntman in Los Angeles. He had with him his nine-month old son, Trevor, whose mother had died in a drunk-driving accident.

Trip and Beth both resisted their attraction to each other. Each had been through too much and neither was interested in being part of a couple. When Beth was hassled by a stalker, she found herself turning more and more to Trip for help. His family, including his brother, the sheriff, quickly noticed that the family’s ‘garden angel’ seemed to be constantly appearing to little Bailey and, sometimes Beth saw her.

Ms. Cindy Spencer Pape is an outstanding author. This is not my first book written by her. I loved this book and quickly realized it was part of a series. I read book #1, but not the other. That in no way hampered my enjoyment of this storyline. The plot was fresh and, while not new, was written in a unique way which endeared the story to me even more.

This book was so good I could not put it down. The characters were dynamic and visibly meant to be together. Their children even seemed to be real—not constantly perfect or overly rebellious. Many of the sub characters were old friends, from the first offerings in this series. However, this book will definitely stand alone and you will not feel at all confused if you haven’t read the preceding books.

Obviously I loved this book! I highly recommend that you put this on your must-have list. I guarantee that you will be glad you did.
