Mark's entire outfit has been attacked somewhere in Peru, Only Joey Latrobe and Mark are still alive. Joey's brother is an operative for Phoenix, an organization that does what the government can't. Mark is being tortured and Faith feels his pain. Their mental communication is hindered by a "psychic blocker" working for the terrorists. Faith tries to use her writing connections to discover Mark's whereabouts. But who can she trust? Someone betrayed Mark's mission. Who is behind the cover -up? She has some political connections, but can any of them help her save Mark? The characters are interesting. Faith is capable and strong-willed. Mark is a hero in every sense. The Wolf is the world's most prolific arms dealer. The Snake is another bad guy. Corruption in the government is rampant. Rochelle does a great job describing the intrigue of treachery. Tia, Faith's friend and research assistant, is a great supporting character. And Aunt Vivi of the Lotus Circle helps Faith focus her psychic energies to get the job done. These are extremely strong characters in a tense and dramatic romance. The politics may be a little tough to follow, but the conclusion is extremely satisfying. Rochelle keeps the reader interested until the end.
