Alyssa is what is known as a carrier. She carries the gene to be a werewolf and may be turned into one. Her sister has embraced that life and her mate Connor. Connor’s best friend Marc is convinced that Alyssa is his mate, but she isn’t so sure. She buries herself in her life as an art major in the local college and is happy that for once since the murder of her parents all of her sisters are within visiting distance. She has also found herself a human boyfriend, a big mistake as it turns out. She is determined now to give Marc a chance when the model for her art class comes into the picture. She is able to pull Jace into her dreams as well as Marc, and she is now more confused than ever. To make matters worse, her abusive ex boyfriend is harassing her and threatening something worse than the rape she has already suffered.

I really enjoyed this story. I would like to read Connor and Alexis’ story, but this one stands on its own very well. Alyssa is much stronger than she thinks she is and Jace helps her see this. Marc is understandably confused by Alyssa’s attitude and all is made clear by the end of the story. Phillip the ex, is as unappealing as any villain I have read about, and I would have had a hard time choosing between Jace and Marc myself. I definitely want to read more about these sisters, especially the two that are mentioned by not seen, though her twin Katie makes a brief appearance at the end. Her story looks to be a really good one.
