| The Druid priestess studied her mortal charges in a black pool. In one century, an evil man wants to steal a good man's life. In a another century, a lonely woman pines for the love of a knight in shining armor. Could it be possible to bring a twenty-first century woman together with a thirteenth century man? The Priestess decides to try with her magic Amethyst amulets.
England 1250: Lord Nicholas' wife has just died in child birth, his baby son lives. Nicholas's greedy brother-in-law covets everything he holds dear. With his wife's death and his infant son vulnerable, Nicholas must hire more soldiers to protect his holdings. England 2009: Julie teaches medieval studies and Norman French at Cambridge University. She longs for love, a man to be her knight in shining armor. The priestess brings these two together. I've always loved to read romances set in medieval times. It's so romanticized, even though it's such a brutal and harsh time. The author put just enough authenticity to keep the story interesting. Lord Nicholas is a man of his time, arrogant and strong. He thinks women should be meek and submissive. Julie is a modern woman, strong and opinionated. She will not be a doormat. The author added crude soldiers, serving wrenches on the make, and delicate ladies' maids. Just the right combination of characters to create a good story.
