Phoebe Alphius has a problem. Her father, the Governor of Turkey, insanely believes her to be the goddess Artemis. A goddess who must never bed or the temple will crumble. Phoebe refuses to listen. Disguising herself as a common slave she enters the market and is mistaken as a thief by a most handsome man with long raven hair and intense blue eyes. Now her thoughts roam, wondering how it would feel to be loved by a man so perfectly sculptured. If only she could convince her father she is not reincarnated as the goddess Artemis.

Barry Winston is in the trading business. He is smitten with Phoebe when he first encounters the young girl, not realizing her identity. The next time they meet he is caught grabbing hold of Phoebe's arm, and the shopkeeper seeks to have Barry arrested until Phoebe impulsively states he is her fiancé. Now Barry wants her to share a night with him.

In Amorous Journeys Phoebe and Barry discover each other by being in the wrong place at the right time. After one night of warm passionate love, her father discovers her whereabouts and is not happy. But with the help of Barry, Phoebe is able to steer her father into changing his mind about her being a goddess. Ms. Campbell has penned a wonderful masterpiece with an ending that makes the heart leap. The characters are enchanting and the story flows smoothly. The reader cannot help but cheer for Phoebe to finally find happiness. This is a wonderfully written romance that is captivating.
