| Andrea "Andy" Hollis was the daughter of Air Force General Howard
Hollis. When Andy announced she was getting a divorce and was going
to enlist in the army her father disowned her saying she was no
longer his daughter. Andy is determined to be the best soldier she
can be without her fathers help.
When Andy is promoted to Executive officer of the Twenty-fourth Signal Brigade she is NOT at all happy. She hated to be sitting at a desk doing paperwork and answering phones all day. She liked her job at The Wireless Communications Company were she felt needed and trusted. Her first official act was to plan a send-off party for Colonel Standish her new boss. Which means she will also be welcoming a new boss too, Colonel Cory Costain. Cory was an easy going, laid back kind of guy and that is how he ran his office. He didn’t like formality and usually had a good working relationship with his troops. That is why he had such a hard time understanding Captain Andy Hollis’s hostility. Cory felt an immediate attraction to Andy but she was a by-the-book soldier and would never consider going out with her CO. When war breaks out in a small country called Sangre de Cristo the Twenty-fourth Signal Brigade gets called to duty. As the war progresses so does the attraction that keeps building between Cory and Andy. Even though Andy is very attracted to Cory she also knows it would not be proper to go out with her CO and she would not give up her military career. When tragedy strikes the twenty-fourth brigade and Andy is wounded Cory comes to realize his true feelings for Andy. As Cory rushes to Andy’s side he must convince her that some things are worth fighting for. Gwynn Morgan has taken two totally opposite characters and made a romance that really worked. Andy Vs. The Colonel is a extremely well written story that takes the reader into the lives of the military through two different point of views. I thought the story was both refreshing and sweet with characters that I won’t soon forget. Don’t miss this great read Andy Vs. The Colonel by Gwynn Morgan.
