Angel comes to Colorado after hearing the of the sudden death of her parents in an auto accident. Tearfully she and her brother Seth, along with attorney Jerod Mitchell, venture to the mountain to scatter the ashes of their parents. Along the way Seth and Jerod seem to be hiding something from her yet she never suspects the fate that is awaiting her. Once on the mountain Angel realizes that the trip was not just to scatter the ashes but to also have her meet an unfortunate accident. In the blink of an eye Angel is tumbling down the mountain and lands on a ledge. Seth and Jerod, satisfied that she is dead, will eventually head down to notify authorities of her unfortunate accident.

Mitchell Walker was hiking on the mountain. After his last case he wanted time to relax and unwind. It is here on this ledge he finds a woman who is badly injured but not dead. He carefully takes her off the ledge and sees to her injuries knowing that though she has some broken bones she has a good chance of recovering if he can get her down the mountain. Angel realizes that she did not fall but was pushed and that both Jerod and Seth had something to do with her parents death also.

What Angel doesn't realize is that Mitchell has a secret. Yet right now his main concern is to get this woman to safety. They join forces and manage to elude Jerod who is searching for the body. The descent is slow and tedious and but it also brings both closer together in the process.

An action-filled story that keeps the reader engrossed page after page. You want to see them make it down the mountain, and more you want to see them realize their feelings for each other. The backdrop of the Colorado landscape just adds to the story and the reader can visualize each step they take.

A great story and one that is a must for all who love a romantic suspense.
