Deidre Nelson and Jonas Mendez had a past—neither talked about it nor dwelt on it, but it was simmering in the background of their minds. When Deidre last left Ventura, Texas, Jonas was on the verge of marriage; Deidre did not return to her parents’ B & B for ten long years because of facing him again. She always entertained her parents in New York, her home, so she would not have to see Jonas. Then, ten years later, her parents were embarking on a cruise and there were petty problems at the B & B; she agreed to house-sit the Flying Wind while they were gone.

Jonas never forgot Deidre nor did he ever marry; his fiancé decided she wanted another man and that ruined Jonas’ trust in love and marriage. When he saw Deidre, he was Sheriff of Ventura; it was his job to look after her and the business. The attraction was still there—as Jonas said to Deidre—“no expectations—just anticipation!”

These two characters were blessed with multifaceted personalities; they were very believable and their spirits were smoking! Ms. Michelle has, once again, penned a couple who sparked sensual flames without destroying the storyline. The inability to commit to Deidre caused Jonas a myriad of problems. This author knows exactly how to create a masterpiece! I highly recommend this book and this author. She is quickly becoming an automatic buy for me—Anticipation—see for yourself!
