| After an office romance goes horribly wrong, Kari decides to make a change in her staid life. Her first step is to volunteer for a political campaign and the second is to finally embrace the cyberspace revolution. Soon she has a steamy on-line relationship with Max who shares her love for food and cooking. The only problem is when they decide to take the relationship face-to-face, she isn't sure how he will handle the fact that she's overweight. Her other problem is that someone is undermining her candidate and her friend Jeff is the prime suspect.
This was an interesting tale about finally meeting the right person. I love heroines who do not look like models, it's easier for me to identify with them. Of course most women have some type of body or self esteem issue but it just seemed as if Kari was setting herself up for failure. I really liked how the tone started out in this book but then I felt as if Kari became more negative. I found it hard to compare the successful business woman with the insecure woman she was at home. My biggest problem with this story was that Kari had legitimate reasons and for years refused to even use personal email or the Internet and then in less than a week she is having virtual sex with a virtual stranger. I'm sorry to say that I never liked Max but I found Jeff to be an appealing character, very genuine and personable. I also enjoyed the political sabotage which added a slight mystery to this contemporary romance.
