What's a girl to do when two blasts from the past both declare their feelings on the same night, within minutes of each other? Richard Slick, dork turned multi-million dollar hottie and Marcus, the ex-high school football star turned famous actor, both let April know that they have more than renewing old friendships in mind. Choosing between these two men leads her through a myriad of heart-wrenching emotions and the realization that maybe you can love more than once in a lifetime.

Rarely do I pick up an erotic romance book today expecting to find a story that touches my heart and brings me to tears while also getting me hot and bothered, but The Life and Loves of April Johnson is that type of story. Eve Vaughn has done a wonderful job of developing characters that are realistic with just enough flaws to make them believable. The plot is well developed and the story flows quickly keeping the reader engaged from beginning to end. April is a girl next door with the same insecurities as the majority of today's women who has had her share of heartache in the past. Throughout the book Richard has several scenes that show him shifting from "Mr. Dominant" to his old geeky self and it's those glimpses of the geek that make the reader want to kiss all of his insecurities away. Marcus has always been arrogant and had everything a guy could want. It's his cocky attitude that immediately has the reader hoping he'd take a long walk off a short pier, but by the end of the book your heart warms to this character and you are left hoping he gets a happy ending too. From the sizzling, seductive and sensual sex to the heart-wrenching emotions, The Life and Loves of April Johnson is a must have for any lover of books with both passion and plot.
