Melia is an undine, a water elemental who was created when his great grandfather had the lake created on Adam's property. Since he was a young man he and Melia have had a bond. She knows his memories are true even though he thinks she was just an erotic dream. They're together again as he struggles to find a way to support himself while his career as a writer becomes reality.

Margaret L. Carter weaves one of those fantasies that is as erotic as any but with an environmental message. Melia wants to save her lake. It's her home and the author does a great job showing the interrelation of all living things in the body of water Melia wants to save. In trying to convince Adam not to sell it to a land developer Melia risks everything for the man she has loved since he was a child. There's some great dialogue reminiscent of the movie Splash where Tom Hanks saves a mermaid only to be faced with a decision about staying human or becoming a merman. This is some fun reading in a touching romance.
