| Ellie has the final moving box closed and taped shut. This stage of her life is now sealed; or rather it will be tomorrow, when she heads to the next stage, taking a job in Chicago. Everything, just everything is perfect. But is it truly? She has made peace with the fact that her grandmother is now gone. That was hard, but she knows it really is for the better. She has no other real ties here, other than the fact that she loves the quiet, stable, comfortable way of living that some small towns just have. No, the only problem her mind has to deal with is the gorgeous man named Jake, her best friend and the one man she is deeply in love with. He is the reason she needs to make this final break, before he ever discovers that her feelings aren't at all sisterly. She doesn't want to put him on the spot with her unrequited love.
But she doesn't have any inkling that Jake wants and needs her, and that only his sense of doing right by letting her have her freedom, prevents telling her that he loves her more than anything. Sometimes one just has to take a risk. Such a wonderful story; so romantic, even to the point of the characters believing they should let the other go. Wonderful, wonderful story. Definitely a keeper for all romance readers.
