| Lily grew up in the streets and was rescued by Roco a boxing trainer. He gave her a life and a skill but he demanded a price that Lily is tired of paying. Because of her past, she doesn’t expect a future and lives strictly in the now. When she meets London and wants him, she takes him. When Lily discovers he is an undercover cop she turns her back on everything she has ever known to help and protect him. Can London get her out of this trap she is living in or will their relationship just get them both killed?
Aries by Jade MarQueen is the first book of a new In the Stars series. Apparently the series is stories shared by the Gods as the watch earth. In the start of this book, Aphrodite tells or shows this story to Hermes and Athena. This book isn’t a light or funny book instead it is rather dark and steamy. From the beginning of the story Lily is fighting, cursing, and then having sex with London within a very short time span. She is not an easy character. London is a good guy in a tough position trying to do what is right without blowing his cover which would probably cost them both their lives. He also makes no attempt to hide or apologize about his desire and attraction for Lily. As a whole I liked the story but it is darker book than I generally choose to read. Life for Lily doesn’t have many choices and she has been abused and used but she doesn’t make excuses either; she does what she must to survive. If you can read this book and not be upset by the darkness, then you will find a good story!
