| Kirsten is on the run from her ex-boyfriend Kurt. She'd been with him for five years, but didn't know who he really was until the day she left him. After what she'd heard, she just jumped in her car with her dog and took off for home. All she has is the clothes on her back, the car, and the credit cards. When she realizes that she's running out of gas, she is forced to take the first exit she comes to, and it's not looking very promising. The town of Paradise is a long way off the freeway, and she's just hoping they have a gas station. They do, but she's about to find out that Kurt is even worse than she thought.
Reid has had it with women for a long time. Ever since his ex-wife left him, he doesn't want anything to do with them. When Kirsten speeds into town, he's sure she's just as bad as his ex. He doesn't tolerate speeding in his town, and since he's the sheriff, he runs a check on her car, only to discover it's stolen. When he arrests her, he discovers that there is more to Kirsten than meets the eye. Arrested is an appealing love story with a lot of spicy sex thrown in. Kirsten and Reid sizzle, with a lot of chemistry between the two built up in a short amount of time. Kirsten comes accros as an unsophisticated person that really didn't believe her boyfriend was bad until she saw it with her own two eyes. I really liked Alyssa Brooks way of portraying her, because you never think she is blind, just naïve. Reid is bitter about women because of his ex wife, and is truly surprised to find himself so attracted to Kirsten. The sex between the two is passionate and carnal with some bondage and spanking. You get the feeling that Kirsten and Reid just can't keep their hands off each other. I really enjoyed reading this story, and look forward to reading more from this talented author.
