| Hoshi Machiko Barrett-Kingston has lived an interesting life, discovering her talent of painting at an early age. Her art gives her passion and makes her feel alive. For some time, she set it aside because of all the chaos in her life. Now years later, something awakens the passion again. Then Caleb walks into her life and her secret is no longer safe, nor her heart. Caleb Holden has the opportunity to meet Machiko while she is house-sitting for friends. He finds the exotic beauty someone with a firecracker persona and unbending stubbornness. The moment Machiko meets Caleb her heart stops at his presence. He acts as if he can read into her soul and makes her feel special. Just when her art awakens deepened desires again, Caleb comes along and drives her wild. Can she trust this man who wants to help educate her on the fine art of sensuality?
Art of Sensuality is a romance between two people who can practically see inside the others heart. I like the way the reader feels the sparks when the two first meet, as their sizzling passion starts as friends then turns into much more. The chemistry is like a slow burn and this reader was thrown into the beauty of their relationship. I thought Machiko was wise in not immediately plunging into bed with Caleb just because he is a handsome piece of eye-candy. Trust is indeed an issue in this story, and Jax Cassidy does a good job in depicting characters true to form. She crafts a moving tale that involves much more as Machiko finds a way to help her wounded heart. The story of Caleb and Machiko has a way of capturing the heart and staying with the reader for a long time in this captivating read.
