| Jasmine Reyes's stepfather was killed and she can't feel sorry.
Raphael Valdez was an evil man who had beaten her and her mother.
Reynardo Valdez is a worse man than his father. He's taking over his
father's business and strengthening the connection with the Naranjo
crime cartel. He also has an obsession with Jasmine. He'd always
wanted to make her his woman, and it doesn't seem to matter to him
that she is his step-sister.
Jasmine hates him as much as she'd hated his father. So she sneaks into his office to find the identity of the persons who killed his father: Diego and Antonio Martinez. Dressed in a disguise, she sneaks into the back seat of Antonio's car to warn him that Reynardo is planning to kill him. In the car, Antonio turns the tables, but she refuses to answer any of his questions. He takes her into his house and ties her to his bed. There, he takes some sex toys out of the drawer to torture her with. He knows if he arouses her enough, she will tell him anything he wants to know in exchange for satisfaction. Oh. My. Gawd! That scene is so hot! All I could think was, "Me next!" A Spanish Revenge by Jade James is the second installment in the Tracer series, but it reads well as a stand alone. I was able to pick it up without having read the first one and didn't feel there was anything I was missing out on. It was obvious that Diego must have met the love of his life in Book 1 as he was away on his honeymoon in Book 2. Antonio finds the love of his life in this book. From the cliff hanger ending, I'd surmise their sister, Selma, realizes their new partner, Javier, and she have unfinished business in the romance department in Book 3. This short story is action-packed. Antonio is an oh-so-sexy macho man with an amazingly sweet and sensitive nature, at least where Jasmine is concerned. He races off to rescue his woman without blinking an eye at the danger. Jasmine is an independent woman who would fight Reynardo to the death, but that doesn't stop her from responding wholeheartedly to Antonio. They are both capable of doing what has to be done, and at the end of the day, meeting each other's needs with white-hot lust. If Book 2 is representative of the rest of the series, then the Tracer series is not to be missed. I highly recommend Book 2, A Spanish Revenge.
