| Faylyn has one goal in life it's to assassinate Talor Sylvanos,
Emperor of the fif'Steorra Lumen. When she breaches the security of
the palace to get into the ball she is surprised to realize the
royal ball is a masque ball. As she is looking around trying to find
her target she falls under the eye of a man she takes to be part of
the royal guard. As he flirts and tries to pick her up, she begins
to be annoyed and tries to ditch him.
When he discovers her again it comes out that she is a trained assassin and that he was Talor and her target. When Talor takes Faylyn back to his rooms and ties her down. He starts using some very interesting techniques in getting her to tell him what he wants to know. The toys and instruments cause both of them to get excited. After they have made love, it is discovered that someone else is also at the ball waiting to see if Faylyn succeeds in her attempt to kill Talor. When he is brought in for questioning Faylyn begins to understand not everything is as she has been taught. Will Faylyn and Talor be able to find happiness when the truth comes out? This is a very fast paced short story and watching the truth come out between Faylyn and Talor is very exciting. Really would have liked to seen this one be longer so could dwell longer on the plots and the reasons behind Faylyn wanting to kill Talor. Also would have liked the loves scenes to be longer the heat between these two was awesome so would have liked to spend more time with that. As it is the scene is very hot and does include a little bondage but is beautifully written. This is Ms. Hart's first published work and look forward to seeing more from her in the future.
