Emma is on an archeological dig when her coworker is murdered and she is held as a suspect. His death mirrored the death of her parents five years ago. Upon her release, she returns home to Chicago and struggles to make sense of what is happening in her life. Her gift of reading the past by touching artifacts proved the Sicari really existed. Ares appears in her house asking for something she doesn't have, setting off a chain of events that neither could have anticipated. Ares vows to keep Emma safe from the Praetorians but neither one knows how Ares will protect her from himself.

This is the first book in the Order of the Sicari series. We get enough of the history of the Sicari and the Praetorian Guard to make the story complete without it overshadowing the romance. The suspense built into the story held my interest but it was easy to see that the romance developing between Ares and Emma was the main focus of the book. Both Emma and Ares are great characters even though at times I wanted to tell them both to get over themselves already. Emma is smart, resourceful, and stubborn. Almost too stubborn at times. Ares is the epitome of a Sicari warrior strong, arrogant, and honorable. Both have past relationship gaffes that hinder their feelings towards each other. Their sexual chemistry is allowed to build to when they finally consummate their relationship and the reader is emotionally invested in the outcome. The inventive use of telekinesis adds a whole new dimension to the sensuality level! The twists and turns written into the plot will keep you riveted to the page as you learn about the Sicari, their honor, and their fight for justice. Well thought out and researched, this book is full of action and intrigue. Combined with the sizzling chemistry and Sicari rules, Assassin's Honor is one book you don't want to miss. I definitely will look forward to more Sicari books!
