| Sophie Jensen has never had an orgasm. She lives in a beach house with her two best friends and roommates, Sam Houston and Jordan Cooper. They met their first year at UCLA. Sophie and Jordan are 24. Sam is 29. Sophie and Jordan own a graphic design business. Sam is a real estate lawyer. Sophie has physical and emotional scars from the beatings she received from her father as a teenager. Her lower back is severely scarred and she has never let any man see her naked or touch her back for fear of their being horrified by her scars. Sophie told her secret to no one. Sophie would like to be sexually uninhibited and have a man touch her all over with his hands and mouth. One night Sophie walks into the living room and finds Sam and Jordan watching erotica. She joins them. The night leads to some interesting discoveries.
The relationships between Sophie, Sam and Jordan are beautifully written by Ms. McKnight. Ms. McKnight shows great sensitivity in dealing with Ms. Jensen’s scars. There is tremendous compassion and tenderness in Sam and Jordan because they both love Sophie and think she’s a beautiful passionate woman. This story is special in the way it shows Sophie becoming freed of her past – both emotionally and physically. There are some scenes with Sam that have tremendous joy. The best part of the relationship between Sophie, Sam and Jordan is how much love they share. That made the tender moments in the story much more poignant. I recommend this book to everyone.
