| Jessie Curtis is a private investigator. Her good friend Dalton Auster is a policeman. They are working on a serial case in which young women are ending up dead and drained of blood. The medical examiner has put them down as suicide but because of Jessie's special gift she believes that the women have been murdered. Jessie is a psychic. After each Pyrite concert a body has shown up and Jessie does not believe this is a coincidence. Either someone in the band is guilty or someone wants him to appear guilty. Jessie is determined to find out the truth. Through her investigations she will get to know Rafe Steele, one of the singers, up close and personal.
A Taste of Twilight name I believe refers to Jessie getting to experience what it means to be a vampire. The plot of the story is to find a serial killer and stop him. This was achieved in a creative and exciting manner. The dialogue is well written, logical and easy to follow. The characters are well developed and easily pictured. Jessie is a plain looking young woman that has suffered great lost. She is smart and psychically gifted. She is brave and handles the unexpected with a cool head. Rafe is sexy, brave, protective and musically gifted. He is also a gorgeous psychically talented vampire. The two make a wonderful couple. The settings are described is such great detail that you are able to picture the story as if you were in the same room. The romance from the very beginning is explicitly erotic. The sex is beautifully choreographed, especially in the scenes involving threesomes. Aubrey Ross does a wonderful job of detailing these passionate encounters. We are led to believe that there will be other stories involving these characters and I looked forward to reading them when they come out. For a highly erotic vampire adventure and romance, I recommend this book to the readers.
