This was a quick hot read that jumped right into the action from the very beginning. I am sorry to say that I did not feel a strong connection with either of the main characters yet they both had such potential. Tory is a strong resilient heroine and I would have loved to get some more of her history such as just exactly what she had been through since the death of her mother. Michael is a larger-than-life presence and he has such animosity towards humanity that it is hard to believe his knee-jerk reaction to Tory. The plot and the world building are fantastic and I enjoyed the explanation of how vampires are created. I am looking forward to Zadkiel's story as I swear I lost a little of my heart to this angel, I'm also eager to read about Gabriel's adventures.
