Louise is a madam and runs a well-known pleasure house in New Orleans. However she has kept a record of her life and everything that has happened to her, it is this book that is the focus of the story and how it affects the lives of several women. This is the first tale in the series.

Winn has been set up in an arranged marriage with David Knightsbridge. She doesn't want to marry him and knows nothing about him. She knows it's important to her father and figures the only way to get out of it is if she can convince David that she is a floosy and make him break the engagement. With the help of a very special book, Winn is intent on coming up with a plan not to marry David.

David made a deal and intends to see it through. When he meets Winn he gets the exact opposite of what he was told, then he realizes the game she is playing and what she really is. Intrigued by her innocence David is even more determined to marry her and teach her the ways of passion and the pleasurable duties of wife. Can he convince her that he is not as bad as she thinks?

This book is sure to be a keeper and an excellent read for all. I highly enjoyed reading it and can't wait to see what the next book will bring. Winn is a winsome character with plenty of spark and fight. David is playing the patient teacher and is more than willing to teach Winn everything he knows.
