| Both Max and Jackie have been having very erotic dreams about each other for some time. Both want to make those dreams a reality. One day, after hearing Max has dumped his latest fling, Jackie's friend and coworker suggests she have a makeover to get rid of her dowdy clothing and hairstyle, then have a no-strings affair with Max, since Jackie is attracted to him. At first, Jackie protests but then decides the idea has merit. After pawning her ring for the money needed, she goes to the business that her friend recommended to her for a makeover and comes out with a sexy new hairstyle, sexy new clothes, a bellybutton ring, and a tattoo. Now she is determined to have a no-strings attached fling with Max, leaving him before he can leave her. That same night, Max has decided to see if Jackie can live up to his dreams.
This was a short but hot story from Joy Nash about two people, mainly Jackie, taking chances on something new and exciting. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I wished there'd been more characterization of Max and a more concrete ending. The style of the story itself was excellent, enough so that I'll look forward to Ms. Nash's next work. A View from the Clouds was a romance, though it might not satisfy romance readers who expect those three little words rather than gestures. There's also a slight paranormal twist to the story, as Max and Jackie share the same dreams.
