| On the run for 15 years from frightening memories of her childhood, Branlyn thinks that she's finally ready to face what happened so long ago to her family. Oddly enough, it's helped that lately she's been having some strange dreams of a man that is also telling her that it's time to go back, because she feels like she can trust him, and that these dreams are real, even though she knows they are not. When she finally arrives at her old home, she finds that the man in her dreams has been waiting for her to grow up and come back. Branlyn is about to find out that there is more than one secret waiting to be uncovered from both the past and present in her life.
You are never quite sure who the villain is and who is the good guy in this complicated tale about facing your demons head on. Branlyn is not always predictable in how she handles things, and that gives you a sense of suspense that you might not have had otherwise. The male characters in the story didn't always feel like real people to me, perhaps because I never really got to know them. I was definitely entertained by this story, because Branlyn was a great character who is strong and capable of handling herself, and the mystery kept me thinking. If you like mysteries with a little bit of the paranormal thrown in, then this may be the story for you, as it keeps you guessing till the end what will happen next.
