| To end the siege upon her castle, Eleanor must marry
her enemy, the Duke of Trevich. She feels nothing but
hatred for her new husband and vows he will not have a
moment of peace while she’s alive.
The duke hates Eleanor, but he knows marrying her is the only way to end the fighting. After the marriage ceremony takes place, he makes his intentions clear. The marriage will not be consummated, and after a time, he will send Eleanor away to live as a nun. Desire puts their plans in jeopardy. Who will surrender first? This historical romance gives the reader an honest, realistic look at medieval life. Ms. Stuart provides vivid descriptions of the cruelty and brutality present in the aftermath of war. The duke’s treatment of Eleanor is often vicious, and a couple of times, his actions even become a bit violent. But Eleanor is strong, and she refuses to submit to his will. Each suffered a heartbreaking loss on the siege’s final day, and this is what fuels their hatred. It’s so beautiful to see them get past this and discover love. A WOMAN’S HONOR is a well-written story. It has powerful characters and an engaging plot. The book also has several beautiful pictures gracing its pages. It’s a good choice for someone who enjoys a romance with a darker tone.
