Megan Young is uncertain of how to act when she comes face to face with her ex-lover, especially since she's hiding a secret from him, one that has been between them for three years now -- that they have a son together. But when Megan becomes the target of a smear campaign, she turns to help from Adam using their son as a bargaining chip.

Adam Waters is only back in his hometown long enough to sell the family home. But when he finds an injured dog, he takes him to his ex Megan knowing she's a vet. However, soon Adam finds himself drawn to Megan again and can't help but want to spend time in her company. But when Megan turns to him for help, using their son -- a son he knew nothing about -- as a way to get him motivated into finding out who is setting her up, he can't help but want to offer his assistance even though he's aggravated by the fact she's never told him about their son.

From the start, the plot of this story was full of ups and downs for both the hero and heroine. Both of them seeing each other after three years must have been quite a shock, considering the secret the heroine was hiding. The dialogue was well written, and showed how the guilt that they both had about different things that happened in their life extremely well. The sex scenes were hot and captured the chemistry that had always been between them and illustrated how very much still in love they were. What I liked so much about the heroine was how she managed to keep herself together even though her life was falling apart around her. While with Adam, I liked that he was willing to help Megan no matter that she hadn't told him about their child.

Overall, this is the first book I've read by this author and I've got to say I loved it and can't wait to read more of this author's work in the future.
