| Ex-con Wade MacReynolds has a bargain with Madame Lily. In order to get water rights from her property to his for his cattle, he has agreed to trade one night of sexual pleasure for a week’s worth of water use. If Wade doesn’t get water for his cattle, he will lose the ranch and will be thrown into jail for not paying his restitution. What has started as a convenient agreement is spinning out of control.
Ms. Labud has delivered another entertaining high-speed story. Wade and Lily live during a rough and difficult time and both have had very difficult lives so far. I found it amazing that not only were they able to get over past issues, but they make each other laugh and are able to have a few moments of hilarious child-like fun despite the difficult grave situation they find themselves in. I just love the banter between Wade and Miss Lily. Lily is a very demanding woman. She knows what she wants and she goes after it. Wade carries scars on the outside and inside and those scars hold him back from everyone, but Lily may be just the woman to heal old wounds. The battle of wills between them is only just starting and I can’t wait to read more. My only wish for this story is that the books came out weekly like the story takes place.
