| Emily never thought she would find love again after Rich died in an accident in Germany, just as he was about to come home for their wedding. With nowhere else to go she decided to leave Pennsylvania and head to Vermont to help her Aunt Faith run her confection business. Even there she was still lonely, though Aunt Faith encouraged her to go out and meet people. Still the memory of Rich was holding her back.
It was when she received a package from her college roommate Carol that Emily's life started to change. Carol and her husband had found an old journal in a box they had purchased in a store in Arizona and Carol who knew how Emily loved anything to do with the old town of Tombstone so she sent the book to her along with an invitation to visit. The moment Emily opened the book and began to read she had the feeling she was actually there in Tombstone in the late 1800's. Though she always knew she would get engrossed in any book she read she decided it was only her imagination and left the book for a while. The more she thought of it the more she wanted to know more about Zachary Tremaine and his life in 1889 and what happened to him. She decided to take Carol's offer to visit her in Arizona and maybe even look up this Zach Tremaine in the library in Tombstone. Little did she know that in her search for this man she would be transported back in time to Tombstone in 1889 and meet Zach Tremaine. Everything he had spoken of in the journal she had was real and his journey to the west was to find his sister, but more than that he found the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. A woman who came from another time and would never even know him except for the journal he had written. Emily thought she had found all she could want. Yet as quickly as she was transported to the 1880's just as quickly she was sent back to present day leaving Zach back in his own time and Emily lonely again. Would she ever see that man from the past again? Or would she try to go back to him? I love stories about find lost loves in another time and the author has given me one of my favorite time periods as well as genres - the west. It's a well written story that will leave you wanting to see if these two really do find each other again. Yes there is a happy ending but you'll be surprised at how it happens. For all of us who longing to see all romances find happy endings you'll love this one. I did.
