Dakota and his brother Ross treat women as playthings. A dime a dozen and good for one thing and it involves a horizontal position. As wrestlers the two men are in the public eye and those eyes often have curves and a willing body. The two siblings think nothing of using their fame to score and they aren't too particular who they use to warm their beds.

That is until they meet Diane and her sister, Kelly who share ownership of a club the brothers begin frequenting. The two sisters are rough and tough and have learned to survive by their own wits and no man is going to hurt them ever again. When Dakota treats one of the waitresses at the club as a plaything, he receives a set down by Kelly, who politely asks him to keep his hands to himself. Perplexed that Kelly could ever refuse to be charmed by his macho male attitude Dakota asks his buddy if she is 'a dyke or what?' Later Dakota comments, 'I cannot get over that bitch.'

Needless to say Kelly does eventually succumb to Dakota's charm just as her sister carries on a relationship with the hard-drinking Ross. Rocky relationships they both are, until a life threatening illness shows Kelly Dakota's true colors.

This book pushed several of my annoyance buttons. First the men in the book were less than idyllic which is not a problem. I like heroes that are flawed, but not coarse and derogatory towards women. I found the characters in Bad Decisions offensive with their attitudes and actions. Calling women bitches, more often than not, and generally being obnoxious does not endear a character to me. The dialog was very natural, though as I said coarse, and there wasn't much descriptiveness, just blunt storytelling. The characters needed more substance and the story more details to make the reader part of it. None of the characters were very admirable and certainly none of them inspiring. To top it off, part of the book was written first person and part third person, which made for awkward reading.
