| Staci Thornburn, is a journalist who is determined to get an interview with the new Chinese UNESCO Ambassador so she can do a good story about the things he wants to do for needy children in China. But things go wrong from the moment she meets the sexy ambassador, Jiao Long. He is very proud of his heritage and Staci has just insulted him by telling him she doesn’t believe in luck. Jiao decides to get even with her by cursing her with a day of bad luck but he never imagined how that simple little curse would come back to haunt him too.
Bad Fur Day is the third book in the Night Critters series. These books can be read stand alone as each story involves a different set of mixed up paranormal breed crosses. Staci, a weredog and Nephylum mix, is very sure of herself and her opinions. It is Staci’s tendency to be too free with sharing her thoughts when she meets Jiao that leads to the disaster that befalls Staci and Jiao in this funny tale. Jiao, a Foo Dog-Dragon cross, knows better than to use his powers to curse someone but just one day seems harmless enough to get Staci to realize that luck or un-luck does exist. If these two hadn’t been so distracted by the chemistry between them and had been a little more careful we wouldn’t have this humorous tale of misadventure, misunderstanding, and destiny. I enjoyed this tale as I have the rest of the books in this series. The intimate relationship that develops in this story holds a few surprises but is sensual and fun. These authors have very creative imaginations and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
