| Badges is a collection of short stories by John Simpson. These are stories about men in law enforcement who find love and even life partners.
The Last Place - A severe blizzard sends two officers to a motel to safely wait out the storm Medic One - An officer meets a new paramedic in town Peach Fuzz and Whiskers - A rookie officer in a small town meets his counterpart in a nearby town Military Service - An officer meets an Airmen on guard duty Borders of Love - American and Canadian Border Patrol officers meet. Marshal Service - Two marshals on a stake out find out they have more in common than they thought Secrets - Two junior Secret Service agents guard the President and the First Gentleman Three stories, scattered throughout the book are related; Officers in Need, Uniform Hardness, and Age is but a Number. The stories revolve around the relationship of a training officer and his new rookie as they go from their first meeting and crisis to a life-partner relationship. I think The SAC is my favorite. The FBI Special Agent in Charge meets a new rookie agent in his office. The very next day, the rookie is caught in a bank robbery as a hostage. If the robbers discover who he is, he’ll be killed. The situation is resolved but the SAC must help his rookie through the aftermath. Each of the stories is told with tact and sensitivity. Finding someone, man or woman, is a special time in a person's life. Everyone needs to find peace and happiness and those in law enforcement are especially in need of someone to turn to at the end of their stress filled days. If you enjoy M/M relationships, this is a very well written book and I recommend it highly.
