| After being squeezed into a dress Tamara considers too revealing, she heads to a party with her sister. Her sister insists it's a night to find a bit of pleasure, but Tamara isn't too interested, especially since every man there is likely one she can physically defeat. That is, of course, until her eyes make contact with a pair of simmering eyes belonging to a huge, muscular man. And after he prevents another man from coming her way, Tamara decides to leave. She doesn't need to deal with that kind of arrogance.
The lust Kendrick feels over a human female is a bit strange, but when she leaves he goes after her. But, after a scuffle, she gets away and leaves him in an awful mood. He never expects to see her again...much less in a position that leaves her in his power. Contract to Pleasure is a novella with plenty of carnal sex. I can easily see this being a favorite of many fans; after all, Kendrick is definitely more manly and Alpha than the average hero. Luckily, Tamara isn't just a push-over in their relationship. I'll always give kudos to an author who can create an Alpha hero with a strong counterpart in his mate. But, while the sex was enough to have anyone eyeing their spouse hungrily, I wasn't entirely sure the love at the end could be completely explained by the events before. Even with sex and the way Tamara and Kendrick enjoyed each other's presence between lovemaking, I didn't think they'd had the time or interaction for such a strong emotion. The beginnings of it, certainly, and especially on Kendrick's part. Despite that, I enjoyed Contract to Pleasure. It's the kind of story that makes a boring day go by faster.
