| Charlie Ascott was turned into a werewolf against his will and has finally learned to live with his wolfy traits, excluding his incredible attraction to an unknown she-wolf. He scents her every full moon, but still isn’t ready to track her down because of his little problem with the “mate-for-life” thing. Until one day, he catches a familiar scent in an elevator.
Verity Connors has cut herself off from her family and friends since she was bitten, but when she meets Charlie, she decides that it’s time to take a chance and finally let her impulses run free. Knight writes this novella with a humorous and conversational tone that is very pleasing and there are scenes in the story that are down-right funny. The bedroom scenes were quite well-done and I enjoyed the both the protagonists were clearly meant for each other. However, there are some issues with the plot especially in the second half. I got the feeling that the author was scrambling for a conclusion, but did not know quite how to end the story. Perhaps this was due to the constraints of writing a novella but for me, the conclusion was just not satisfactory. Nevertheless, it remains a fast-paced and moderately amusing read.
