Erica Bain expects the charter flight she is piloting is just the normal group of hunters from the city trying to experience the wilds of the Yukon. They make her uncomfortable but the money is good even though they change their destination mid-flight. On the way home she experiences an electrical fire and must make an emergency landing at a lonely weather station. The sexy meteorologist is hardly welcoming, but Erica’s warm and funny personality wins him over. He is also a little different from any other man she has met before, being a six hundred year old werewolf, even though he looks barely forty. Those years of experience stand them in good stead when the hunters turn out to be looking for the ultimate prize.

This is a suspenseful erotic tale. Lothar and Erica share a lot of chemistry and complement each other beautifully. He is dark and brooding and she is sunny and funny; he can’t help loving her. He hates the monster within him and believes that he will hurt Erica in wolf form, condemning himself to a life alone. Of course Erica will have none of that, especially after their experience with the author’s truly evil villains. The author’s description of the Alaskan wilderness and the towns within are very vivid. I can definitely picture a werewolf hiding here for years. Lothar’s background is also very interesting and helps the reader understand why he is the lonely and sad person that Erica falls in love with. This is a really well written and different werewolf romance.
