No matter how skilled he may be as a magician he doesn't seem to have enough tricks to stay ahead of Lucinda.
Sabrina Jeffries gives us another great tale in this series. Most of the men who have all of the power don't always seem to have the ability to outwit the women in the book. The author makes this fun as we watch them struggle against the so called weaker sex. Lucinda, Nettie, Lady Kerr are wise as owls and sly as foxes at times as they manage to help keep the men at a loss for words. But they're gentle souls and never push past the point of humiliating their men any more than they deserve for some of their actions. We can easily picture the chagrin on the face of each male as they find they've been outwitted. Ms. Jeffries makes this an exciting story with its twists and turns. Lucinda and Diego are almost like boxers as they feint and jab and sometimes go in for the clinch that lets them rest and build a great love story. This is some superb writing. The characters, dialogue and scenarios keep the action fast and often fun.
