At the urging of her friend, Kyara, an Italian fashion model, Serena Valiente, escapes to Rome to heal from a shattered marriage. Leery from stories she has heard about the gypsies of Rome, Serena is aghast to see a young girl attack another tourist. In Serena's haste to leave before she too suffers the same fate, she has a chance encounter with a tall, handsome stranger she assumes is a gypsy as well. Imagine her surprise when she discovers he is Count Warren di Spadafiera, cousin to Kyara and well-to-do business man. In her mind, he is still the handsome gypsy that invades her dreams, and images of Serena continue to plague Warren.

Her free-lancing in the fashion industry leads Serena to the middle east and a proposal from a handsome sheik. Serena comes face-to-face with the restricted freedoms of the women in the countries she visits. Seeing that middle-eastern women have no say in their relationships or lifestyle choices, Serena begins to appreciate her own life, despite abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, Kevin-her life isn't so bad after all.

Bargain For Love by Elly-Royce Laurens is more than just a romance. It's an adventure with a story line that covers a myriad of issues...oppression, jealousy, fantasy, reality, big business, relationships and difficult decisions. Elly-Royce gives you a first-hand opportunity to experience difficult cultures while looking in on the romantic bargain that Warren and Serena strike. I appreciated that her writing style left the love scenes to my own imagination. Her descriptions leading up to them, made it very easy. Bargain for Love is indeed a bargain. If you like everything rolled into one... you'll love this book.
