Justin is a Cajun cop who is interested in finding out about his background, while fishing on the bayou he gets attacked by alligators and goes straight into the water thinking he's about to be alligator food. When he wakes up however with a Creole woman standing over him, he is shocked that's he's still alive and doesn't remember what happened after he fell in the bayou. She informs him that she will give him his past and future, but he must pay the price. He never figures how high that price will be or that it will bring back the woman he loves.

Jean Marie had a relationship with Justin a while back and she wound up leaving, now she's back and the last person she expects to see is Justin. Of course she does and he expects to pick up right where they left off and getting her into his bed again is his top priority. Even worse because of her past she needs a safe place to stay and that winds up being with Justin. The sparks between them still fly, even if she won't admit it out loud. Now trapped in a cabin in the swamp will they give in to the desire they have held at bay for so long?

I love this story; just the mystery of the Louisiana bayous and Cajun country makes the book worth reading. You get everything, action, adventure, romance and magic all rolled into one great story. Justin is a Cajun you'll be panting to get next to, with his sensual southern style. Jean Marie is stubborn in that she wants Justin, but refuses to give in to her feelings. The sexual tension is very high and it kept through out the entire story. This book gives definite insight into bayou life and the colorful people in it.
