| Bookstore manager Lanie Erickson is driving along an icy Colorado road when an animal jumps in her path causing her to detour quickly into a guardrail sending her sailing down into a ravine. When an animal drags her away, she later recalls it was the same white tiger that had veered in front of her car. No longer seeing the animal, she finds herself in a cave with a man whom she suspects is a hiker. Noah Carpenter is on the run trying to escape an agency known as the B.E.A.S.T. It is an awful place that kidnaps people then uses them for expensive experiments, completely wiping their minds of any memory and turning them into vicious monsters. The experimentation that Noah underwent was training him to be a killer, but Noah’s heart doesn’t wish to be a killer. Finding a way to escape he had no idea that his swift escape would send Lanie into an accident crossing their paths. Now he must confess to her the truth and explain that she no longer is safe from anyone he comes within contact. Tam, a ferocious agent, can shape-shift in to a black panther and the agency sends him out to locate Noah. But Tam wants more than Noah’s blood; he wishes Lanie as his own and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
The B.E.A.S.T. Within is on the edge of the seat entertainment at its best. It is one thrilling ride that keeps the pages turning. I could feel Lanie’s fright and practically see the expressions on her face during the whole ordeal. Noah is a refreshing character with many emotions that really spark the reader’s interest. The secondary characters blend in creatively making this one exceptional tale. Rebecca Goings creates a fantastic story that is truly motivating and gives an adrenalin rush. Her style of writing always amazes me. She takes pen to paper and creates a masterpiece. Even her dastardly villains have a way of making the story intriguing. This is one highly recommended story that should not be missed. I absolutely loved it!
