| This is your typical fairy tale, Belle and her sister are sent to care for her ill father. On their journey they take a short cut and trespass on Lord Glen Dubh's land. The man living on the imposing estate is said to be beast. They soon find themselves the unwilling guests of the dark lord and at his mercy. Lord Glen decides he wants Belle as his companion and promises that if she stays with him, he will heal her father. Being the dutiful daughter, Belle trades her life for her fathers and gives her word to stay with the Lord Glen. Now it is a fight against time, as Belle must save the beast she has come to love.
Lord Glen knows he is a beast and uses his magic mirror to look at the world. After seeing Belle he knows that she is the one meant to be his companion, but can he teach her to love a beast? Belle must look past the outer layer to see what lies in Lord Glen's heart, and then and only then will the curse be broken. This is really the retelling of Beauty and the Beast. If you know the fairy tale then this story pretty much follows the same lines. I did like the retelling and there is just something about reading it that you won't get in a movie. The love scene doesn't come until the end of the story but is aptly used at just the right time. If you want to revisit your childhood, then take a look at Beauty and the Beast.
