Another visit to Legend, Tennessee took me back to the mountains of this legendary, though fictional, small town near Gatlinburg. Suzie Schul had struggled to make a success of her life. Her husband had left her for her younger sister. She didn't want either of them but she resented being alone. Before her divorce, she had gone to the city and met and worked for a chef. She left him because he was five years younger and wanted a family. She couldn't have children.

Brad Matthews had waited for months for Suzie to come back to him even though he knew she wouldn't. He inherited a fortune and researched Suzie's hometown. He decided to purchase the Lake Lodge, demolish it and build a new, modern hotel and a five star restaurant. He was determined to be with Suzie and make a living in Legend. He also purchased a Harley Davidson Dyna motorcycle. When he pulled into Suzie's bed and breakfast and she recognized him, she fainted.

Ms. Maddie James has done what she does best—written another showstopper. She writes with other ladies about the area near Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Her characters are dynamic, spontaneous and exceptionally funny. This poignant look at a couple who definitely loved each other was impossible to put down. I love James' style and her writing techniques are undeniable. She expanded this storyline in such a way that I definitely didn't want it to end. The surprise ending was so sweet and predictable that it made incredible reading.

The controversy between this main couple, in addition to the complimentary actions of the secondary cast, was like a trip down memory lane. I am constantly amazed how this author, in addition to her writing companions, manages to coordinate the storylines, cast of town people and intertwine them perfectly.

It is like a trip down memory lane keeping in touch with all the various citizens in Legend. I highly recommend this book, this series, and definitely this author. Kudos, Ms. James!
