| TJ Lipton is a veteran suffering from PTSD. She has survivor's guilt and her civilian life is falling apart. Enter Cross McNally, a Dom who knows exactly what she needs. He helps her to face the past and embrace the future in a way only a fellow veteran and venerable Dom can. He has a few secret weapons at his disposal, and he's not afraid to use them.
This story is an emotional rollercoaster that will make you laugh, cry, and overheat. This installment of the 1-800-DOM-HELP series lives up to the high expectations created by others in the series. From the first page, TJ's plight grips you hard and doesn't let go. She's emotionally scarred, battered by experiences most of us cannot begin to imagine. She's a strong woman who needs help facing her trauma. Cross is a formidable Dom who knows TJ the moment he first observes her in a desperate attempt to find normalcy. The characters in Begging for It are real, fallible and completely loveable. Cross helps TJ to heal herself. Though he's a hero through-and-through, he doesn't swoop in and save her. I like heroes with enough self-esteem and respect for the heroine to help her become stronger and whole, not do it for her. Devlin weaves an enthralling tale around these two main characters, and that's before taking into account the scorching and erotic sex scenes that'll have you squirming in your seat. It's a novella that's impossible to put down, a definite gem worth reading again and again.
