Three years ago, Megan Flynn thought she was falling in love with Seattle homicide detective Cole Williams. That is, until the night he arrested her brother for a murder she was sure Sean hadn't committed. Now, Sean Flynn has given up all hope and tells her to stop trying to find ways to free him and go on with her life, he won't file another appeal. But Megan isn't about to let her brother die, not when she thinks she has some leads to the real killer. And the only one who can help her, and keep her safe, is the one man she has vowed to forget.

The characters are wonderfully done. Megan is loyal to her brother and determined to do whatever it takes to clear him, even when the danger gets closer. You can't help but admire a woman who is willing to go places and do things most of us wouldn't dare just to look for the evident she must have to save Sean. Cole is in real conflict when it comes to Megan. They were just getting to know each other when he arrested Sean for a violent murder. He had to distance himself from Megan because of the investigation, but he has never let her go completely from his mind or heart. He's put fifteen years into a job he loves and he could lose it all if he helps Megan. Or if he falls in love with her.

The Romantic Suspense genre is defined as a romance with mystery or thriller elements. This book has both in generous proportions. Be prepared for a spine-tingling read with plenty of terrifying moments. The serial killer Megan believes is responsible for framing her brother is still killing and getting closer to Megan with each victim. Don't be fooled. This is not your sweet romance with cozy mystery. This is a not-for-the-squeamish, tension-filled murder mystery. If you can take the heat, you'll love this book.
