'Beloved Enemy,' is set during the time Earth is at war with the Gaians. Lieutenant Megan An Flena is a pilot for the Earthforce. During a confrontation with a Gaian fighter her ship is damaged. Megan ends up stranded on an uninhabited jungle-like planet, but she is not alone. Kavath is the Gaian pilot that fought with Megan and he also suffers damage to his ship. He ends up stranded on the same planet as Megan. When Gaians meet their love match they become linked. It causes excessive need to consummate the relationship. Kavath becomes linked to Megan and has to fight his overpowering arousal. Being alone on a planet and mutually sexually attracted to the enemy leads to a very creative and exciting story.

'Beloved Enemy', is appropriately named for the obvious reasons. A relationship develops between the two people taught to be enemies. Megan and Kavath are two very interesting characters that have both suffered in the past. They will have to get past their preconceived ideas of the other to understand one another. Their interactions are explosive from the very beginning. There dialogue is well structured and easy to follow. The plot of the story to bring two enemies together and have them fall in love is fully developed and makes for a very enjoyable story. Janet Miller does a wonderful job describing her settings. The jungle-like planet is easily visualized as well as the characters. The emotional aspect of the story is powerful and you understand both sides of the characters. They both think they have reasons to hate each other. The romance is sweet, but when there is a rescue of one of the characters it is almost heart wrenching. The sex is sizzling. If you enjoy futuristic romance you will enjoy this story. This is the third book I have read about the sexy Gaians and I have enjoyed every one.
