Nicholas Vallsade has searched for his lost love for centuries. Time and again he finds and loses her to tragedy. This time he has no intention of leaving their relationship to fate. Emily’s life is suddenly and terrifyingly changed when she encounters Nicholas. He is eerily familiar from a series of dreams she begins to realize are visions of her past lives. The dreams are all so different but all include Nicholas and horrible endings to their love. Emily hates him for what he’s done to her now and thinks he’s insane. But she’s also drawn to him, trying to make sense of her past and her new life as a vampire. Emily can’t see how this time will be any different especially after powerful vampire master shows up to cause all sorts of problems.

Beloved Forever explores the darker side of vampire romance. It is explicit in it’s descriptions of violence, taking blood and indeed of the cravings that drive both Nicholas and Emily to hunt. It also shows the harsh realities of love that turns to obsession. The main storyline is Nicholas and Emily’s relationship in present time, but the reincarnation theme shows a variety of stories. Emily goes back in dreams so that she can understand that Nicholas has indeed been with her for centuries. The switches in timeframe could have been confusing but it’s not. It is a unique way to unfold this couples' history and flow smoothly to present day. The sexual tensions build during these revelations and the eroticism is intense but it does not outshine the complex plot. Nicholas is very dominant and Emily struggles with confusion about their relationship. He is redeemed in her eyes eventually as she comes to better understand his love and her own dark desires. The danger Koss represents helps to pull all the elements together into an intriguing conclusion that leaves the door open for sequels. This is a gritty, sensual romance that readers who like vampires edgy and just a bit terrifying will definitely appreciate.
