| We meet Peggy Brannigan in the frozen Arctic. She's living with a native family and working on her dissertation, not knowing that soon her life will never be the same. On a trip to a near by village two ruthless men kidnap Peggy. Soon her cruel kidnappers are ambushed and she finds herself in the arms of Geirwolf Valkraad. She discovers he's very different from the other men and finds herself softening toward this stranger. But will it be enough to make her love him?
Jaid Black is one of my favorite authors. I love the way her imagination takes me to far off places. This time we are in the arctic. Her main characters, Peggy and Wolf, are very detailed from their appearance to their thought processes. She makes you understand the way they view their worlds. Peggy's world is modern day. She's a college student making her own way in the world. While Wolf lives in a world where time has stood still and where goods are bartered for and wives are stolen. The way she brings these totally different people together makes for a really good story. Besieged is easy to follow and hard to put down. I like the way it flowed quickly through each scene. The sex scenes were also well written. Peggy can't help her body's reactions even if she doesn't always want to enjoy it. As their relationship progresses, the sex gets hotter. There is also a sweet, kind and loving relationship building along with the sex. You just got to love a total package like Geirwolf Valkraad! I recommend this book to any of Jaid Black's fans. I also recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance with a happy ending!
