Logan Lambert has built his construction company from scratch with the help of his two closest friends. When his latest project topples in an earthquake that shouldn't have affected it his business may be ruined. With the help of Kayla Hampton, a CPA who is blind but far from handicapped, he searches for the reasons behind the disaster. The more they uncover the more it seems like his best friends may have been behind the disaster.

Janet Quinn gives us as many twists and turns to this story as only a great storyteller can. Just when we think we've got it figured out and they're going to find the real villain another facet comes into play and we're left guessing. This is great fun as we try to figure out who did it along with Kayla and Logan. We can narrow it down to a few people but it isn't until the end that we really find out.

The characters are all well done. Kayla may be blind but she's got courage as the bad guys target her over and over. She can even stand up to her often overbearing Dad as he tries to take control of her life. She's worked too hard to get where she is to give up on herself or Logan as they fall in love. Logan keeps trying to protect her but she does a great job on her own. The dialogue is realistic and helps the plot along very well as they argue and quibble about who's going to do what with whom when!

Blended in with the suspense there's humor, romance, tidbits of information and all the good things that make a story worth reading. Ms. Quinn has done an excellent job building this storyline and bringing it to a dramatic conclusion.
